#60 Do Not Eat Out for 2 Weeks

www.clipartof.com/details/clipart/13174.html

I can't believe I actually did this!!! But I'm so happy I did and saved about $45 in the process.

I'm still trying to drop some of the last bit of baby weight and one day Hubby called himself being helpful I did the laundry. He put my jeans in the DRYER!!! So squeezing into these jeans hurt my feelings so bad I started researching diet/work out plans I could get into to speed this process along. What's strange is, while I was pregnant I didn't gain that much and since having Elijah I think I've gained 15-20lbs. Not a huge deal but I'm not used to all this weight, I've been sluggish, extra tired, and moody and I'm going to blame the weight! lol

So anyway, Halle Berry looked GREAT after having her baby and she attributed it to the ABC diet which used the South Beach Diet and serious workouts. I've heard of the South Beach before so decided to try it and I've just finished Stage 1 (seems strict but not really after I got the junk food out of the house) and I'm comfortably back into those jeans!!!! I was off for a week so I stayed home, made some of the meals from the book and website and other's, when I went back to work, I took lunch w me and even Hubby joined in.

THANK YOU SOUTH BEACH FOR SAVING ME MONEY AND MY JEANS!!!

#25 Plant An Herb Garden

I've never been much of a green thumb but I've always wanted to plant something and thankfully Hubby got me an in-door herb garden for New Years!! So far so good, here are some 1st pics of the seeds just planted. Now they're growing pretty well, especially cilantro since I don't like it lol, we're waiting on chives though...Please excuse the mess we're packing the apt up :-x...
I'll post more pics as they grow...

# 20 Start A New Tradition

I'm a huge fan of the holidays! From Thanksgiving straight through New Years I'm in love with the energy of the season! Growing up in NY I always couldn't wait to go see the tree at Rockefeller Center and going ice skating at Prospect Park, walking up 5th to Tiffany's of watching the light show on the side of Saks. Even the hustle and bustle and awkward foreigners crowding my city doesn't bother me during the holidays lol. I didn't really grow up with any real holiday traditions and so now with my fam I've decided to do it right for everyone...

The Plans (for now):
We ALWAYS get a real tree (have to have that smell!!!) and we decorate together Thanksgiving weekend.
When Elijah gets older we'll include him in St Nick's Day (Dec. 5th) where he'll write his wish list for Santa and put it in his stocking. Santa takes it that night and if he's a good boy he'll bring him his top toys :-)

::Yes I have ordered the monogrammed tree skirt (Jones) and stockings (w/all our names)::

On Christmas Eve we all open one gift which will be Xmas PJs (corny I know lol but I love it), bake cookies for Santa and leave a carrot for Rudolph, and then it's bedtime with 'The Night Before Christmas' (Elijah better not clown me)
Christmas morning Santa puts a present in every one's stocking in "special" paper and each gift under the tree in that paper is for that person from Santa and the rest is from the family.
Then Christmas breakfast (which is a tradition I grew up with), of course a Jamaican breakfast.
Play time...then Christmas dinner, it has to be ham (Hubby's family tradition).

Hopefully this year we can start this tradition and carry it out until our kids are big and calling us corny lol. I love the Holidays!!! I'll post pics when we get it started...
